Completed Electronics Engineering Technology and Computer Engineering Technology diplomas at college in the late 1990's. My personal interests include computer architecture, CPU design, system programming, compiler design, and computer forensics.
This open-source laptop project is basically the project that I have always wanted to build since I was in college. The main difference between this project and the one I wanted to build, is that I wanted to design and build my own custom desktop PC running Linux: custom x86 CPU (32-bit only), motherboard, video and sound cards.
My last personal project was building a simple CPU in Verilog, and porting an assembler, linker, and compiler. My ultimate goal was to run uC-OS on a simple CPU and single-board-computer that I built myself. The CPU was almost fully simulated. The assembler, linker and compiler worked, but the compiler required extra features to compile uC-OS.
Currently, I'm not working on any personal projects, but hopefully that will change in the future.
