I'll fill this in more later, suffice to say I'm a geek and like open systems (though honestly with a much more heavy slant towards Cynbe ru Taren's "if you paid for this software than someone is ripping you off" and http://muq.org/~cynbe/hackers-code.html era public domain/DWTFPL/ISC/MIT/BSD licenses I still prefer over GPL/FSF though if we can some up with some sort of residual license system that actually doesn't strand developers without terrible dual licensing things that would also be awesome, maybe Creative Commons has a permutation, but since it's not a boilerplate and IANAL, I haven't monkeyed with it; CDDL troubles me for entirely different reasons). Hardware hacking, routing protocols, OS design, I18N, and graphics wizardry I still consider black arts of awesome, but I always want to get better. By day, I tend to do net/ops stuff with some infosec sprinkled in (though I kind of feel like security is always the losing side, it pays the bills).
