Novena runs a special X server that supports accelerated drawing. This includes accelerated video composition and scaling, as well as hardware blitting. The Kosagi repo with Debian patches is available at xserver-xorg-video-armada.

Overview

the server uses etnadrm to accelerate drawing. This requires additional kernel modules.
